Not that we're against head to toe glitter either.

I don’t believe in “New Year, New You.” I am not going to change overnight — let alone make a commitment to be a whole new human in the new year. HOWEVER, what I will subscribe to is upping my game on New Year’s Eve to set a tone for the year. (“Back away from the black yoga pants that you didn’t do yoga in, Ali.”)

If you’re with me on this, scroll down for some easy ways to feel like a fashionista while you ring in 2018.

Calvin Klein dress

Grab a little black (sweater)dress

One of the biggest wardrobe debacles on NYE is that it’s chilly (in most parts of the U.S.), but you also want to be able to look cute without bundling up. Enter…the black sweater dress. This one from Calvin Klein has a twist on a classic, and you can pair it with accessories to dress it up or down.

Add some sweet ear candy

Speaking of accessories — might I suggest these sparkly ear crawlers? They add a pop of somethin’ somethin’ to almost any outfit without it taking too much of the spotlight. You’ll want to wear them with everything this year — trust me.

Strut in some not-so-little black boots

These over-the-knee Steve Madden boots are the perfect balance of not-too-horrendously-uncomfortable, but also enough height to make you feel sassy. Plus, you know you’ll wear these bad boys to death throughout the rest of the winter.

Top it off with a classic crossbody

There’s almost never anywhere reliable to put down your bag at a party on NYE without fear of losing it. Bring a crossbody that works will with your outlet, like this Kate Spade baby blue one that won’t go out of style in 2018 (or beyond).
