Who says tiny umbrellas are just for vacation?

I did a dry December, mostly by accident. One day I realized I hadn’t had a drink in a week and barely noticed. Not that I drink a ton, but enough that I could buy a pair of Dr. Martens a month with the amount of money I spend on rose or a nice bourbon.

So almost as an experiment, I decided to go a full 30 days and track how much money I saved and how I felt in my body. The end result? I saved just about $200, not counting the extra Ubers and 2am pizza slices. My skin looked great, and it was nice to feel so productive on Sundays.

The thing that bugged me the most was the lack of drink options. What, I can’t have something deliciously muddled just because I don’t want a healthy splash of tequila? It’s not fair to punish those who aren’t super into alcohol with plain seltzers or diet soda.

That’s where our friends over at Be Mixed come in. They are all about the mocktail, and are firm believers in not having to drink boring water just because you aren’t imbibing. We challenge you to make the below three drinks (complete with tiny umbrellas), to keep the party going and delicious all month long.

Peach sparkler

Peach Basil Smash
Ingredients
1/5 oz. soda water
1/2 ripe peach, diced
1/2 lemon, juiced
4 basil leaves
Directions
1. Muddle peach, lemon juice, and basil in an old fashioned glass.
2. Add Be Mixed
3. Add ice and stir until cold
4. Top with soda water and garnish with basil
Mocktails
Pear Thyme Sparkler
Ingredients
2 oz. Soda Water
1 Pear
2 Sprigs Thyme
Instructions
1. Remove skin from pear and cut into pieces. Place in cocktail shaker.
2. Add thyme to shaker and muddle.
3. Add be Mixed Cucumber Mint and orange liqueur.
4. Add ice and shake well.
5. Fill a tall glass with crushed iced, strain the shaker into the glass.
6. Top with soda water.

Ingredients
2 strawberries
Soda water
Directions
1. In a glass, crush the strawberries with the back of a spoon.
2. Add ice to the glass.
3. Add in Be Mixed.
4. Stir well into cold.
5. Top with soda water.
